Over the years I tried every diet in the book to lose weight - the F plan diet, Atkins diet, counted fat units, the Cambridge Diet, Herbalife and the list goes on. The reality is that the only way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you are consuming. But 'going on a diet' suggests that this is temporary, and once the weight has gone, you go back to what you were eating before. This will never work as what you were eating before got you to where you were before, which leads to yo-yo ing, which I am a professional at. I have gained and lost the same 2 stone more times than I can count.
Learning to change my attitudes to food and exercise, breaking my food addiction and learning to deal with strong emotions in a different way than comfort eating, has led to the slimmer, healthier person that I am today. It was not easy as for humans changing habits is always difficult, but it was so worth it.
Passing on my experiences is so rewarding. Watching others discover their new inner healthy self is an amazing part of the work that I do.
