Weight loss can be a long, slow journey. It can be easy to get carried away and start eating very little in order to try and speed up the process. However, our bodies are very clever and if they start not getting enough food they have a 'starvation mode'. They think that there is a famine coming and will hold onto fat with every ounce of energy they can muster. The result is that weight loss will slow down.
I encourage my clients to see weight loss as a journey, where not only do they lose weight, but also change habits for a healthier future. It is lifestyle changes, not a diet, so that the weight loss is sustainable in the long term.
So settle down and enjoy the journey. For me it was one of the most rewarding of my life - and nothing feels better than being able to confidently shop for size 10/12 clothes. I get a high from this every time.
