Losing weight is a 'simple' equation of eating fewer Calories than you are burning. Over the years there are have been many different diets, but the end result is that you have to eat fewer calories than you burn each day.
I started running to 'earn' extra calories to eat each day as I love my food. I did not realise that I would come to love this part of my life and when injured earlier this year I really missed it but an added bonus for me is being able to eat more and enjoy my food whilst maintaning a healthy weight.
Over the years there have been many diets each with their own special 'gimic' - my word not theirs. But the end result is the same
There is no magical way to lose weight. I really wish for many clients that I could wave a magic wand and get rid of the weight but our bodies do not work that way. So I work on counting calories and this is the basic unit and the one that matters. Nowadays 99% of foods in supermarkets are labelled so it is a chance to learn what you are eating as well.
As I type this I am thinking wow it sounds soooo simple, but I know personally how hard this can be. So this is why I offer the support. It is difficult. Keeping within the Calories burnt each day can hard. It takes a long time to burn off 1000 calories - and not long to eat 1000 calories. This is why many people need some support. The hardest part is admitting that we cannot do it alone, but surely worth taking that first step, getting the help rather than being trapped in a body that we don't like.
